As the nationwide leader and champion for mental health, CMHA facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness.

Canadian Mental Health Association’s (CMHA) Mission Statement

We strongly believe in the work that CMHA does across Canada and we are pleased to have been a small part of their efforts, as that orgaization provided important training, services, and support to Canadians last year.

In 2020 we were sponsored CMHA’s Mental Health First Aid training in Powell River, BC.

In Nelson, BC we sponsored a multi-week art program designed to enrich the lives of seniors at Anderson Gardens to help alleviate their boredom and isolation during COVID restrictions.

In the Halton Region in Ontario, we were able to support CMHA’s provision of160 free one-on-one sessions for those in need.

In Nova Scotia, we were part of a capital campaign for the Colchester East Hants branch and provided additional funding for one-on-one services in the face of the tragic events the province experienced last year.

Our support will continue in 2021, as CMHA continues their mission, making a difference in our communities.

If you would like to find out how you can support CMHA, or if their services could benefit you or someone you care about, please visit them at CMHA.ca.

A Word of Thanks to Our Team

WLWP also sponsor many local sports teams & organizations including kids’ soccer, baseball, basketball, curling clubs, men’s & women’s golf leagues as well as several charity golf events.

As a company we launched our own annual Christmas Toy & Charity drives, one in Nelson, BC and one in Powell River, BC. In 2021 we hope to launch a third event of this nature in Nova Scotia. Our plans to expand this event to all our communities has been impacted by COVID, but we hope to continue to grow this initiative as possible. We will be sure to keep you posted!

This work is in addition to the impact team members are making on their own. We would not pretend to share any responsibility or take any credit for the many hours they dedicate to their communities, but we are immensely proud of the people we have working with us.

Elves Sadie Perlstrom and Ainsley Mackie flank our Santa, Colin White. The entire team enjoys taking part in this event and we love helping make Christmas brighter for anyone who needs a little boost at what, for many families, can be a tough time of year.
