Ainsley Mackie, CIM®

Ainsley Mackie joined our team in 2016 and achieved her Chartered Investment Manager designation in the spring of 2021.  Ainsley was a strong proponent of establishing an Ethical Portfolio and also sits on the firm’s investment committee. 

Financial literacy is an important skill, and Ainsley is a firm proponent of simplifying the world of wealth management. Sharing her knowledge with clients, Ainsley takes care to ensure they are well informed and positioned to take advantage of all opportunities available to them.  T

An active community member, Ainsley is a long-standing member of the Rotary Club of Nelson and is president for the 2021-2023 sessions. She’s also Vice-President of the Nelson Civic Theatre Society and volunteers with Meals on Wheels and the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation’s annual golf tournament. Ainsley’s commitment to Nelson was recognized when she received the “Edward Jones Award for Excellence in Philanthropy & Community Service” during the 2020 Wealth Professional Awards. Ainsley enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, golfing with her partner John, and walking their dogs, Griffin and Chico.

Colin White, CPA, CMA, CFP®, CIM®

Colin has worked in the financial services industry since 1992. Colin is a graduate of St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in accounting. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner® Professional. As part of his commitment to you, he makes it a priority to attend national conferences on topics of investments, insurance*, and financial planning.

Colin’s years of experience give him the knowledge and ability to help people truly understand their circumstances and make informed decisions. The one thing do-it-yourselfers find difficult to do well is to achieve the perspective required to make sound decisions. He can offer the perspective to help you accomplish your financial goals.

Daniel LeBlanc, CFP ®, CIM ®

Dan has worked in the financial services industry since 1995, focusing on investment and financial planning since 2000. Dan graduated from Université Sainte-Anne with a Bachelor in Business Administration in 1994, obtained the Certified Financial Planner® Professional designation in 2002 and the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation in 2015.

Dan’s education and work experience, and expertise in T1 tax preparation* and planning, makes him uniquely qualified to provide unbiased financial advice to individuals and families who are particularly concerned about saving for the future, minimizing taxation and protecting their family from critical financial events.

Shawna Young

Shawna’s extensive background in the financial services industry began in 1997 after becoming licensed with IIROC and starting her career at Beacon Securities Ltd. Throughout her career, Shawna has held senior positions with multiple organizations in the financial services industry, including DundeeWealth, Hollis Wealth and Assante Wealth Management. 

Shawna has a reputation for achieving results with an emphasis on team development and relationships. She has a proven track record of leadership, managing corporate risk, building employee engagement, and implementing & leading the success of major corporate initiatives.

Shawna sat on IIROC’s NS District Council for eight years and served as Chairperson representing Nova Scotia on IIROC’s National Advisory Committee for 2 years.

Fun fact about Shawna that you might not know — she’s a huge Walt Disney World fan. She loves WDW for the attention to detail – from taking care of guests to honouring the past with little touches all around the parks to the completely immersive experience of being there. One of her favourite quotes is by Walt Disney, “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible” — we think that’s fitting based on her track record of getting results!

Sadie Perlstrom

Sadie has been serving our clients in Nelson since 2007. In 2016 she embarked on a new role within our team and has continued to expand her responsibilities. Her problem-solving abilities are second to none, and she has proved to be an invaluable part of our team’s success. Today, Sadie is responsible for company-wide operations as well as day-to-day management and professional development of the administrative team across Canada.

Sadie was born and raised in Nelson, BC and is a proud supporter of the community, serving as a member of the local Rotary Club and the Kootenay Swim Club. Sadie is a loving mother to Sawyer and Grayson, who are also growing up to appreciate Nelson and enjoy an active Kootenay lifestyle.  

Lisa Epp

Lisa joined our team in 2020, bringing five years of progressive industry experience and fifteen years of experience as an administrative professional. Throughout her career, she has been recognized as an excellent relationship builder with a proactive approach to her role, making her an invaluable asset to her team.

Born and raised in Nelson, Lisa spent ten years in Calgary with her husband before making the decision to return home to raise their two children. The family enjoys an active, outdoor-oriented lifestyle that is well-suited to the area. Along with the family’s many outdoor activities, Lisa especially enjoys time at the beach. Lisa is committed to health and is an avid practitioner of yoga.
